Global Layout Options in Avada

The Layout tab in Avada’s Global Options lets you choose between two fundamental presentation modes—boxed (a fixed-width content frame inside a page-wide background) and wide (content stretches to the full browser width). Your selected Site Width value sets the internal content limit in either mode. At the same time, Boxed Mode adds tweaks such as top/bottom offsets, persistent frame shadows, and page-level background images or patterns.

Once the overarching mode is set, related background settings live under the Page Background and Main Content Background panels. Here, you assign global images, patterns, colors, and overlays behind the boxed frame or the main content strip. Page-specific overrides in Avada Page Options let you swap layout style or background imagery on a per-page basis, giving you granular control without touching the global defaults.

In practice, wide layouts pair neatly with the 100%-width page template, allowing full-bleed containers and media while inner content respects the Site Width; boxed layouts deliver a traditional framed look, useful when a consistent surrounding backdrop is part of the design concept. Understanding these few global switches—and their page-level overrides—defines how every other container, Column, and Element sits on the page.
